Just what IS Barack Hussein Obama up to?
Whatever might be said about George W. Bush it would be exceedingly difficult to ever accuse him of being un-American.
BHO, now there’s a different story.
A nation is far more than the land on which it resides, It’s about people, common values, common aims, common morality – in short it’s about – well – nationality.
So why IS BHO so hell bent on doing down ‘old’ America and implementing NuAmerica? A nation that by now is probably numerically the largest Muslim nation on earth — and getting more and more like Donald Wrye’s ‘Amerika’ every day.
His policy involving printing money like crazy, getting the Fed to ‘buy’ Government bonds, using what is rapidly looking more and more like scrip to backfill black holes created by scandalous banking practices (many of which in any other case would be classed as theft and embezzlement) is long term crazy.
Add that to support foreign adventures past and present, and all too often bribes dressed up as aid, and it’s a fiscal road to hell.
There is a name for what he’s doing. It’s the same as Brown’s doing as well but let’s deal with the root cause of the world financial meltdown for now rather than ‘Bottler’.
What BHO is doing is called ‘Seigniorage’.
It can work — provided it’s VERY carefully controlled. It was what pulled Germany out from the mess of the Weimar Republic but at a dreadful price for various reasons in the case of Germany as we all know. It’s probably partially with that in mind that Angela Merkel is so opposed to it as a policy.
But BHO isn’t carefully controlling it. There’s a huge head of steam building up.
(Watch the US long term bond market for rises. That will be a very important bellwether that things are going wrong.)
If only it was the financial factors that were being distorted it would be bad enough but his antics don’t stop there.
He’s started to interfere in the very basis of The American Way©
For example he demanded that the head of General Motors was kicked out, and heaven only knows who else has been ‘let go’ or otherwise persuaded that they had just resigned from wherever.
Not only that but he’s brought in what amounts to a command economy by dictating what GM (and who else?) will and will not produce. OK, it’s quite probably in the first instance all for the best possible reasons, but what then follows on once the gate is open?
At first it’s limited but it soon it won’t be, so replacing an absolute fundamental principle of traditional America, the Demand Economy and freedom of choice. As it happens the CG lot did appear to be the creators of their own demise and did appear not to have got the message but there were other ways to deal with them than by something as close to a good old USSR diktat as makes no odds.
All of that would be — revolutionary — enough but it goes on and on. The nomination of the racist Sonia Sotomayor for the supreme court, (in)famous for her remark that ‘a female Hispanic judge would often reach a better decision than a white male judge.’
Some chicken — some egg.
Then there’s the interference in yet another American freedom, once again business related wherein the executive pay of many US companies will be limited to what is considered as being ‘fair’.
OK, at the moment it’s being constrained to companies in receipt of Government loans, but there are better ways to kill that particular cat than choke it with THAT cream and again once the practice is accepted it will only be a matter of time before it becomes universal. In essence a United States Government Wage Policy for private industry and business.
I just wonder how many Americans who voted for this man realised quite how much of a change he and his backers had in mind for the US.
I wonder if the average Joe realised that the change would be a change of the nation itself.
And it’s only just begun. Black Panthers, voting, and criminality? Let’s not even GO there.
Now He’s announced that there’s such a thing as ‘The Muslim World’. There’s a subtlety about that which will escape most people reading this that is not missed for a single moment by those who live IN the Muslim world.
It is that the Pres of the US admits there are not many nations in the world some of whom are predominantly populated with people following islam,
Instead it is that the Pres of the US accepts that there is one nation – the ‘House of Islam’ and by definition another, the ‘House of Conflict’ and that is a huge step for him to take. It also opens up all sorts of possibilities.
None of them good for us.

It has been a while since I have last read such a foolish comment on Barack Obama’s economic policies, not to mention the totally unfounded comments on his overall approach to politics. Please try to remember McCain’s solution for GM and one can easily see that there were few differences. The article already starts with establishing as true a false idea about George Bush – this man certalinly was the most un-American president in decades – and the decay of US’s economic fundamentals started with him (Clinton was targeting balance while Bush financed the enormous deficits by issuing bonds and money – very, uh, American, Rog?). Even people who have little access to newspapers and polls are aware of the devastating effect of his policies and those of his cabinet. And to compare Brown to Barak is to act in bad faith. I regret that the age.net site makes room for such rubish. As for the comment of Ms. Miriam about Obama’s speech in Egypt: what could she expect? The world needs peace, and a win-lose outcome is what some neurotic people wish, because they can not understand that there is room for a policies that allow a win-win scenario (although not necessarily the best scenario for all involved, but a reasonable one). Reading articles and comments of this caliber explains a lot of the decay of UK and Europe.
