Dis-united Island

We are living through the last decades of the United Kingdom The headlong rush to the multi cultural nirvana so cherished by our ruling elite is finally having it's desired effect. A disintegration of national identity. Within thirty years Great Britain will consist merely of regions, given strangely familiar names by the European Union. These will included 'Wales & Scotland' but the other sections will be divided like pieces of plum pie, given regional assemblies whether they like it or not and these will give a kind of token rule to a populace in the main too apathetic to care very much. Yet more than this political divide, there is a chasm opening up in our social midst. Affecting our daily lives and driving a huge wedge between all the people who inhabit this unique island.

The growth of the religion of Islam will continue unabated, as will other, more ameliorative groups but to a lesser extent. There will be little integration because frankly, there is little desire on any side to integrate. Suspicion, fear, and even loathing in all sections of the population is already well advanced.

Organisations such as The Islamic Council of Britain', The Association of Muslim Police Officers' 'The Muslim Parliament' already seem to cater for a kind of parallel existence. These second and third generation immigrants , non-elected and in the vanguard of the Islamification movement see this country as their rightful home and they believe they have the right to a piece of it, and to try to change it to something more suited to their needs. The 'celebration of diversity' which we are continually fed by our political masters is coming home to roost. The differences between Muslims and the rest, as it can truly be expressed seem to be increasing on an almost daily basis.

There is little social cohesion anymore. This relatively small section of Muslims within our community are vociferous and given the rise of fundamentalist groups in other parts of the world they are becoming ever strident. Many who would , and are described as 'moderate' Muslims view our society as morally corrupt. They harbour disdain for the way we drink alcohol and the way our women dress, the very nature of our banking system and many other facets of everyday British life. They see our largely post-religious society as decadent and frankly, do not want any part of it. They seek isolation and to plough their own furrow, whilst taking what our 'decadent' society has produced in terms of health care and welfare benefits. When British troops are in conflict with their co-religionists in other lands far too many of them see this as wrong and have no natural allegiance with our armed forces. Some of their aversion is understandable. Our culture does seem to have been subverted by a kind of hedonism, fuelled by alcohol and dumbed down by a seemingly slavish devotion to celebrity and materialism. The decline of organised Christianity is not something to celebrate wholeheartedly. Many will disagree, and thereby entirely prove my point.

So far so bad.

Within mainstream white society there is division. The Countryside Alliance sees urbanites as the hoi-polloi. The urbanites who still treasure the countryside, yet seek to impose their own criteria and morals on rural folk in the form of hunting bans do little to develop any sense of solidarity with those from outside the Cities and towns. Instead they flock in their millions to supermarkets to buy produce from shelves well stocked by demanding buyers who trim farmer's margins to the bone and lean on any who dissent. The fifth estate - Tesco, fly fruit and vegetables in from the four corners of the world and only stock cosmetically approved examples. Nobbly carrots and bumpy Onions from local fields are rejected as the Air Miles clock over millions of miles and tons of CO2 emissions for little good reason. Meanwhile the green waxed cotton brigade and farming lobby - seldom content even in the best of times - feel ever more nailed to the wall and harbour resentment.

Inner city areas are becoming the preserve of the drug dealer. Black on black gun crime and murder is becoming a regular, if not daily or weekly occurrence. The metropolitan Police have formed a special operation to tackle this, operation Trident. One wonders why it is so named when just one section of the community seems intent on self-destruction. So many young black men seem bereft of ambition, and justifiably perhaps feel unwanted and excluded from a culture which does little to embrace them, except perhaps on the beloved football pitch, where their undoubted prowess is cheered to the rafters.

On our radios every day, and in opinion polls in newspapers almost weekly, views on almost every issue seems to be split almost down the middle. There is no cohesion anymore, no common view. No public opinion in its old recognisable form. Only division, and disparate voices, many of them in heavy foreign accents.

Half the people are consumed by soap opera and trash television. The other half, the more discerning, entertain themselves behind closed doors often because they are reluctant to venture onto streets of perceived menace. The internet consumes many, and we trade opinions with people all over the world yet many of us do not know our neighbours names. What a strange place Britain, more especially England has become.

Meanwhile our ever 'vibrant' economy sucks in people from the poorest areas of the European Union and seems ready to continue doing so. On the margins of legitimate movement of labour comes a new phenomenon , 'people trafficking' which means the bewildered and the vulnerable are arriving daily to be exploited, mostly by foreign gangs.

Every time I read of a new scam, a new con trick, a new organised drug ring or any kind of negative crime story my first reaction is to anticipate involvement of immigrants. This says something of my mindset, but believe me it is shared by millions., although millions of others would think me paranoid , even stupid. Yet another sign of division. Merely proving my theory, because millions do exactly the same as I. - a disunited nation.

We have been force fed a diet of inclusivity and representation. White, fit, and suitable males are excluded from Police recruitment whilst similar, or even, inexplicably, inferior ethnic applicants are welcomed with open arms. How is this meant to develop a cohesive community. We recruit disabled firefighters to keep up quotas! Silly stories about 'flying the nations flag and causing offence are so numerous that at least a few of them must be true. In any other country on this earth the alienation of the majority for the sake of soothing the feelings of incomers would be absolutely unthinkable. No wonder people have flocked here. The Divided Kingdom. Where the wishes of the majority, since the end of world war two have never been listened to seriously by our government. It could be argued that successive governments have sought to divide the indigenous people. Perhaps along lines of class, and wealth as it ever was. Or perhaps on the grounds of what they might term 'enlightenment' The educated , some might say the 'over educated', taking the world view that all we have is ours to share with others. Berating their good fortune to be born here and longing to include all and sundry in the carve up of wealth. Or that cheap labour is the crucible in which to fire any lingering thoughts of nationhood and brotherhood. That 'equality' means foisting ill gotten theories on those in the lower socio-economic orders. The fools who turn up for work day in day out and pay the taxes which keeps the good ship United Kingdom on its wayward voyage.

No more I fear. The leviathan that is Britain is heading for the rocks and may well be holed deep below the waterline. The line of good sense, of commonsense and reality. Those outermost in a geographical sense might escape its worst consequences & preserve their established way of life. Those marooned in metropolitan divisions will feel division bite hard and bite soon. Ghettoes may prove to be the sanctuary of all. Only their size will vary.

An American woman, intelligent and articulate, today told me 'your country is a train wreck' The analogy does not quite fit with my maritime theory but she is heading back to New York after emigrating here - for good she thought - merely eighteen months ago.

Perhaps the saddest thing I have read this week was John Edwards' column in the Daily Mail. He was reporting from Arromanches in Normandy, where every year, day in day out, visitors from Britain, Canada, North America and other World War two allies flock to celebrate and investigate perhaps our finest collective hour - the D.day landings. An old lady he collared in a café was commenting on the flurry of Union flags and the display of national pride. When asked why such scenes were rarely seen in Britain itself she opined 'well it's not really a country anymore is it?'

That one sentence inspired me to ask myself why, and to convey my purely personal answers by way of this article. I have merely scratched the surface. You will have your own view and it may well be at odds with mine. For the more I think about it, my conclusion is that the Divided Kingdom is already here. One only has to listen to the clarion calls of division on the BBC, daily. The two main political parties are singing from the same hymn sheet seemingly oblivious to what is really happening. Perhaps I'm just a simple lone voice in the wilderness yet I think not. The people who remember 'Great Britain' are slowly passing away. Those under forty years of age might consider the decline of national identity a natural state and be prepared to live with and see what the future brings without protest. They might settle for the diversity trick. Some will even welcome it, not knowing any better. Not daring to hope for any better.

The older amongst us, with full lives nearing their end, and better experiences behind us from the days when Britain had at least a semblance of unity well…..we merely roll our eyes, keep our mouths shut and wait for a messiah. Do not hold your breath.
