About
nine years ago we had a call from our eldest daughter asking if we would
come over.
When we got there we saw a small scraggy looking little
black puppy dog sitting with our daughter's two other dogs.
"Where did you find her?" I asked.
Our second eldest grand daughter then told us that when she
was coming home from college that afternoon with her friend, they heard
a wimpering near some bins.
On looking nearer they saw this little puppy tied
in a black plastic bag with it's head showing. Carly immediately
released it and carried it home.
Our daughter then said. "Mum. I can't take
her in. I have two dogs already."
Oh dear. Liz was asking us to have her, and we
really didn't want to be tied with a dog again. We already had had
two in the past.
"Please Nanna, Grandad." Carly
pleaded. I looked at the puppy, then looked at Bill and said. "Can
we?" Bill was a bit reluctant as we were both still working, me part
time, but he decided to give it a go.
Well nine years later and still with us,
Lucy is the most affectionate sensitive dog that anyone could have, and
we give her a life of luxury.
We call her our peacemaker, because if
ever we raise our voices to each other, she gets one of her toys and runs
from one of us to the other wagging her tail as if to say. "Don't
argue." We soon stop and laugh and the argument is over.
We thank Carly so much for finding her for us, as we
love her so very much and she knows it.
