My Life line

Something to hold and something to love,
Feels good and warm like the sun up above.
I need it, I feel it, I want it close by
It's all that I have, so I don't want to die.

My heart is so empty, surrounded with pain
It comforts me so I don't go insane
I touch it and hold it and admire it so,
It's all that I have, so I don't want to go

The nights are so lonely, long and so cold
I wish I had someone to have and to hold
But it wasn't meant to be, you see
It's all that i have, I can't set it free

It kisses my nose and licks up my tears
And says it will love me for so many years
I'd like to experience fortune and fame
But it keeps me so contented just the same.

It loves me.... it won't let me down
It bites me, swats me and gives me a frown
Somewhat temperamental, but loyal and true,
My kitty, my cat, my Peggy Sue.....
