Crystal and Velvet

This is Crystal and Velvet..They were sisters and went everywhere together.

When they went to bed we couldn't find where one started or finished because they were curled up so closely together. One of them would hide behind the door and jump out onto the other for fun.

Velvet sometimes had runny eyes so we bathed them as the vet told us to. She went off her food and lost weight and we took her back to the Vet. He kept Velvet in over night for tests. When we went to fetch her we thought he was going to give us some antibiotics for her and we were devastated to be told that Velvet had cat Aids and the vet said she would have to be put to sleep.

I can't explain the deep sorrow we felt when we had to go home without her. Our children were still at school at the time. Crystal went looking for Velvet because they had never been apart and dear Crystal got run over and killed. When Velvet was alive they never went out of our garden.
