Parking Mad!

Parking - it's no walk in the park for UK drivers
Parking
- it's the part of everyone's driving test that they dread the most.
It also the cause of many headaches for UK motorists seeing some drivers
resort to violence to resolve parking disputes. Drivers do not recognise
the importance of good parking skills and many prefer to hand the responsibility
over to others or give up on their journey altogether!
Research suggest an overwhelming proportion of drivers feel incompetent
when it comes to manoeuvring their car and perhaps more attention should
be given to parking skills before drivers gain a licence.
The research also found that the majority of bad parking is outside
school gates and on petrol forecourts. With the majority of motorists
admitting to getting most annoyed when one car takes up two spaces and
nearly three quarters of drivers experience frustration when another
motorist parks too close for them to get into their car.
It is worrying that drivers struggle to park on the petrol station
forecourt and Jet suggests that the key to getting it right is to have
the confidence and the ability to pull into the first available space.

1. Make sure your car takes up only one parking space.
2. Respect drop-off zones and no-standing areas - they are there for
a reason.
3. Allow pedestrians to cross in front of your vehicle. As pedestrians
always have the right of way in a car park. Watch for small children.

you.
