Tomato & Apple Chutney

Ingredients:

2 lb. tomatoes
¾ lb. onions
1 clove garlic  (All chopped)
2 lb. apples, peeled & cored.
½ lb. sultanas.
¾ lb. sugar.
½ oz. curry powder.
1 teaspoonful cayenne pepper.
Pinch of salt.
1 ½ pints vinegar.    I usually use less.

 

Method:

Stew the apples in a little water, until tender.   Add tomatoes, onion, garlic and sultanas to apples, with remaining ingredient
Simmer gently for two hours.
Pour into clean jam jars and cover.
Makes approx. 7lbs.
