Jonathan Livingston
Seagull

The debut DVD release of Jonathan
Livingston Seagull on 13th November.
The profound story of Jonathan Livingston Seagull touched all those
who read the best selling Richard Bach novella in the 1970s. The philosophical
journey of an existential seagull (inspired by the real life pilot Jonathan
Livingston) on the search for a higher plane was translated into a stunning
film in 1973 and now Paramount Home Entertainment has released this
unique screen story for the first time on DVD.
Jonathan is sick and tired of the boring life
in his seagull clan. He rather experiments with new, always more daring
flying techniques. Since he doesn't fit in, the elders expel him from
the clan. So he sets out to discover the world beyond the horizon in
quest for wisdom...
Filmed in the style of a nature documentary, and set to a compelling
musical score composed by Neil Diamond, Jonathan Livingston Seagull
tells the story of a bird determined to be more than ordinary; this
is the story of a seagull seeking a higher purpose in life. A truly
beautiful film arguably in the same small (but popular) genre also populated
by hit films like Winged Migration and March of the Penguins.
Pure Magic!
