Nuala

'EL SOL'

The debut single which is shining over Europe
LOS LADRONES MIX/LOSLADRONES EDIT/FLAWED MIX/RADIO EDIT
Retail release: 11th Sept 06
Label: Caitlin Records

Over a month before its retail release, the sublime brilliance of Nuala's debut single 'El Sol' is certainly putting the sunshine into the soundtrack of this summer, as it lights up the airwaves and dance floors across the UK and Europe. From Ilford to Ibiza and all points in between, the top jocks' reactions have been verging on ecstatic…

'Summer is here and this track epitomises the summer sound. I love the Los Ladrones mix. It's a track you just have to dance to!' - Russ Morgan, K Klass

Taken from Nuala's forthcoming album 'Shine', 'El Sol' derives its Latino-sunshine warmth from the Spanish side of her family. Her passionate, hot-blooded song-writing belies the super-chilled, samba-fuelled grooves which underpin her scintillating vocal performance. And despite the fact that Nuala is an accomplished musician who crafts her songs the old fashioned way, the Los Ladrones amplifies the fluency and power of her subtle blend of acoustic folk and samba-tinged jazz.

Directed by BAFTA-winning Little Britain director Matt Lipsey, the accompanying video neatly captures that context by placing a demure and winsome Nuala against vintage black and white jazz club footage that intermittently blossoms into psychedelic explosions of animated colour.

Having hit the Music Week Dance chart at number 8, the track's now at 7 - so there's no question that it's time for Nuala's El Sol to rise and shine!
