Glenn Miller first became a household name with the success of "Moonlight Serenade." Recorded on April 4, 1939, it immediately became a hit. It also became Miller's theme song. "Moonlight Serenade" not only launched Miller's career, making him a household name, but the song also swung open the door to four years of unprecedented recording success. In fact, his music was so popular that the recording industry invented the Gold Record (signifying sales of over a half million copies of a recording) to document his long run of hits.
'In The Mood - The Definitive Glenn Miller Collection' provides a definitive look at the music of the most successful band of the big band era. It is an essential purchase for both dedicated fans and those dipping into his music for the first time.
