Title: Breaking the Chains - the fight to end slavery.
Desc: A landmark exhibition commemorating the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade. Six themed galleries occupy an entire floor of the British Empire & Commonwealth Museum using poignant artefacts, film, music, photography and personal testimonies to create a powerful and memorable experience. Breaking the Chains also examines the legacies of the Transatlantic Slave Trade and highlights the continued existence of many forms of slavery the 21st century.

Title: Pirates Ahoy!
Desc: The swashbuckling villains are back, bringing half-term havoc for all the family with live interactive shows, fancy dress, arts and crafts, storytelling and treasure trails. Just sign up for activities on arrival.

Date: Wednesday 27th February, 7.00pm Talk
Title: An African Scandal
Desc: A talk by Dr Robert Beckford, presenter of Channel Four's 'A Great African Scandal'. The theologian travelled to Ghana with Christian Aid to find out why, 50 years after independence, a country so rich in natural resources remains trapped in poverty. His journey exposes the scandal behind some of the rice, chocolate and gold sold on our high streets and discovers how unfair economic policies are locking farmers and families into a live of deprivation. The evening will include clips from the documentary and questions from the audience. Presented at the British Empire & Commonwealth Museum in partnership with Christian Aid.
