‘The Lawns’ in Winter

Bare branches etched against the sky.
Faint movement only when the birds fly by.
Peace and quietness abound,
While man-made worries, strident sound,
Disappear, with other cares
To soften landscapes, gentler airs
And memories of times gone by – of happiness-
No need to cry, when kindnesses are here to stay.
A new philosophy comes with each day,
A way of living, fresh and new,
Of valuing what’s right, what’s true,
And seeing what it is to care.
A posy of snowdrops picked, so fair,
Straight from the garden, greets the dawns,
And here epitomises all ‘The Lawns’
