ENIGMA SEA

Drifting into sleep,
I hear your soft,
Gentle call, against the shore
Continuous waves, haunting
My mind, God’s mysterious tidal law.
Peaceful in your melody,
You lull me into a dream,
Making me want more and more.
At dawn, you are angry
As you crash on the sands
In ceaseless war.
You smash the sea walls
In gigantic, enigmatic torrents.
You breathe a roar.
You are beautiful
In your dangerous might.
Swell hits the rocks to the core.
I stand soaked, drenched
In your precarious breakers
That you deliberately pour.
Waiting now for the calm,
So I can sleep and dream
In peace, as I did before.
