Malcolm Jarvis is a Londoner who, to use his own words, emigrated
to Norfolk some thirty years ago.
Now 65, he has been drawing for as long as he can remember and has been
awarded distinctions and honours for works submitted to the Royal Drawing
Society since the age of eleven. At twenty he was elected a member of
the Society. He also holds a Diploma in Design from St. Martins
School of Art.
Drawing is still a prime interest of his and he works, usually to a large
scale, in charcoal as his preferred medium. Much of his work is now
created in soft pastel and/or pastel pencils although he also produces
works in water colour and water soluble pencils.

His inspiration comes from the cool greens and greys of the East Anglian
landscape with its dominant and constantly changing skies. He is concerned
with the effects of light on the landscape occasionally working on location,
but more usually from charcoal sketches and drawings which are later translated
into paintings in the studio, where he believes each tone and colour value
can be more deeply considered.
He has exhibited in his home county of Norfolk as well as in London,
Washington DC and South Carolina and his work is owned by private and
corporate collectors in the UK, Eire and the USA.

Typical prices range from £105
to £135 for a 10 x 14 double mounted, glazed and framed.
Malcolm is also able to accept commissions.
